A jump to Phayao with the Dr. Bum, 80 km south from Chiang Rai, on the way to Chiang Mai (you catch it?)
Great opportunity, “very lucky” exclaim the doctor: we had just arrived for the annual festival day in honor of King Ngam Muang, the founder of Phayao . A long parade of several hours, representing many thai ethnicities, several shows of traditional dances in vivid luxurious clothes, and later, some martial arts fighting (unfortunately it was a little bit too dark for taking photos). The long procession ends at the top of the altar where stands the bronze statue of the great King.
